Why you’ll love it

Picture this: a storm knocks the power out, and your fridge, phone and Wi-Fi router just keep going. That’s the whole point of this box.

The DELTA 3 Classic is a 1024Wh battery with real wall-style outlets on the front. Plug in what you need, and it runs on stored power, no gas and no fumes.

It’s just as handy away from home, from a campsite coffee maker to a tailgate speaker to charging everyone’s phones on a road trip.

    What it can power

EcoFlow rates it at 1800W of continuous AC output with a 3600W surge, and says its X-Boost mode can run higher-wattage devices up to 2600W, like a microwave or a refrigerator.

There are USB-C ports, too, including a 100W one that can charge many laptops. For a phone or tablet in your bag, a laptop power bank is the lighter pick. This is the one for the house.

      Fast to refill

Here’s the nice surprise: EcoFlow says it charges from 0 to 80% in about 45 minutes from a wall outlet. You can also top it up from solar panels (up to 500W of input) or other sources, for four ways to charge in all.

Keep it plugged in and it doubles as a backup for your computer or router. EcoFlow says it switches to battery in 10 milliseconds when the power drops. The EcoFlow app shows real-time battery status, and its Storm Guard mode automatically gets backup power ready before extreme weather hits, per the brand.

Good to know before you buy

It’s built on LFP (lithium iron phosphate) cells, and EcoFlow says it runs at 30dB or less at 600W, so it won’t roar at you.

It weighs about 26.7 pounds (12.1 kg), so it’s portable, but think carry-to-the-car, not carry-all-day. EcoFlow gives it a 3-year warranty, plus 2 more years when you register it in the app.

        EcoFlow lists it at $599.

          Your questions, answered

          Can it run a refrigerator?

EcoFlow lists refrigerators among the devices it can power, using its 1800W output and X-Boost mode. Check your fridge’s wattage label first.

          How fast does it charge?

EcoFlow says 0 to 80% in about 45 minutes from a wall outlet. Solar charging takes longer and depends on your panels.

          Is it heavy?

About 26.7 pounds (12.1 kg), per EcoFlow’s specs. EcoFlow calls it easy to carry, so think room to room or out to the car.
